2023 Wilson Trailer Roper Slat Style SSSC-8424
If you prefer a slat style combo stock trailer, then you definitely need to compare the Wilson Roper slat style versus the rest. Wilson’s unique double-wall construction consists of interlocking aluminum extrusions which are bonded together to form a very smooth interior wall without the need for welded on vertical posts like single wall designs do. Wilson’s double-wall design is incredibly strong for longer lasting durability and safer transport of your livestock. This trailer comes standard with all the right features and you can set this Roper up just the way you need it with the long list of available options.
Features may include:
SLAT STYLE CONSTRUCTION- The double-walled Slat Style walls are constructed using aluminum extruded tubes, which are bonded together to form a very strong and durable wall. By forming the wall in this manner, Wilson has created a very smooth interior wall without any vertical posts plus there are no areas to collect animal waste and become a biosecurity problem.
SLAM CATCH™- Wilson’s spring-loaded catch will firmly grab ahold of the door when you swing it closed behind your load. You will then have more time to safely engage the lock rod and secure the door all the way shut. Feel more confident and more protected with the patented Slam Catch.
ALUMINUM SUB FRAME- With the Roper’s aluminum sub frame, not only are the weight savings big, there are no steel components, other than the axles, to lose paint, cause rust or electrolysis…The enemy of aluminum trailers.
NOSE FRAME AND COUPLER AREA- Wilson Trailer provides more strength in the nose area with full-length steel supports. A fully boxed steel frame plus the extra plating and fastening in the transition areas clearly illustrates Wilson’s strength in the trailer nose. Also note the number of crossbars that provide more nose floor strength.
INTERIOR WALLS- Without vertical posts, the interior walls of the Wilson slat style trailer are some of the industry’s smoothest. Wilson Trailer also takes great care to eliminate sharp edges on their gate connections to help curtail animal bruising. With double walled construction dents, caused by animals on the inside, do not show up on the outside.
TACK ROOM- The versatile tack room is available with either a straight or slanted wall. Access into the nose area from the tack room creates even more convenient storage space. A lockable, sealed tack room door keeps all your gear secure and out of the elements. Both the tack room door and the additional door can be located on the trailer’s driver or curb sides.
ROOF- Roof skin stretched to maximum efficiency makes it uncommonly tough for extra life.
GATES- Livestock loaded into a stock trailer puts pressure on all connection points within the trailer and those connection points need to be strong especially when the trailer is moving and stopping. Wilson uses full-height, beefy hinges connected to the floor and ceiling of the trailer which actually become part of the trailer’s structure. Wilson’s full-framed gates have solid latches so you will feel confident about the containment of your livestock time after time.
FULL WIDTH ENCLOSED SKID PLATE- The rear of a stock trailer can drag when pulled across uneven surfaces. This scraping action can roll dirt and gravel up into the sub frame, damage crossbars and potentially pull the rear of the trailer out. To guard against this, Wilson puts in a full-width skid plate across the rear of their sub frames.
TAIL/REVERSE LIGHTS- Wilson is standard with LED combination tail/reverse lights.
